The parents of a seven-year-old boy are demanding answers and an apology after he was reportedly attacked by a dog while playing in a local park. The attack, which occurred on April 14th in the park, left the boy hurt and needing several stitches.

The Incident:

The boy reportedly had been playing with his father following a sports practice when suddenly, without warning, a dog, which the family described as a muscular breed, grabbed him from behind and bit the back of his leg. Footage of the attack on a security camera, as described, depicts the boy walking when, without warning, a dog leaps behind him and bites his leg.

Witness Testimonies

“I saw because my son screamed,” the father of the boy told the news, recounting as fast as the attack had happened. The dog was “just relentless in his attack,” one witness reported. The boy himself described the terrifying ordeal, saying, “I didn’t see it, he was behind me. I pushed him away, but he got me again, and then I screamed.”

The Injuries and Aftermath:

His wounds were seen as cuts in his lower back, thigh, and legs, leaving him bleeding and in an upset condition. The boy’s father came to his rescue when he was being attacked, sprinting across the field to try and grab the dog and biting it on the neck to make it release his son. The owner of the dog was also spotted in the CCTV trying to end the attack by striking the dog.

Owner’s Departure and Family’s Demands:

Later, however, the boy’s father reported that the owner of the dog “left and didn’t come back.” The family is now understandably upset and demands the owner to be held accountable for what occurred. They are also concerned with avoiding such incidents from occurring with other families in the park.

Police Investigation

Police were called to a report of a “vicious animal in a park” and encountered the boy with a bite wound on his lower back and scratches on his leg. He was transported to a nearby hospital in stable condition. Through the latest reports, police have not been able to locate the dog and its owner who had initially attempted to assist before abandoning the scene.

Demand for Accountability:

The father of the boy has stated that, to begin with, he demands an apology from the owner of the dog. This is a sour reminder of the possible harm stray animals on public places can do and the duty of responsibility as a pet owner. The quest for explanations and apology by the family seeks to elicit the emotional harm and physical injury that can be caused by such attacks, and the necessity of accountability to secure the safety of the community. The investigation into this attack is most probably still ongoing as authorities seek to find the dog and its owner.
